The Mission

The mission of CyanO2 is to upscale the technology of cyanobacteria carbon capture to provide indispensable industries an efficient and circular way of reducing their environmental impact.

The Challenge 

For many industries, such as the cement and chemical production industry, carbon emissions cannot be avoided. To meet the standards expected by agreements, their emission need to be lowered but technologies such as carbon capture are expensive and inefficient.

The Solution

CyanO2 aims to use the properties of cyanobacteria to built an efficient and affordable bioreactor which capture carbon dioxide directly in the cement production process and produces useful chemicals such as biopolymers.

This project is being coached by
